Massage Expectation

Hello my name is Donnette Weiterman and I look forward to our work together. Before we begin, I would like to explain to you how I work and what you can expect.

Once we meet for a session I will go over your intake paperwork with you and discuss any concerns you are having. Once a treatment plan has been agreed upon, I will exit the room so that you may undress to your level of comfort. This is either fully undressed or down to your underwear. If you feel you would like to keep more clothing on please do, we can surely still complete a therapeutic and relaxing massage. I will allow you plenty of time to undress and lay on the table covering yourself with the sheet and blanket on the table. I will knock prior to entering the room to ensure you are ready. You will be properly draped at all times and only the area of your body being massaged will be uncovered.

This massage is for YOU! Almost everything can be adjusted. If you are too hot or cold, please let me know so I can adjust the level of coverings or temperature in the treatment room. There will be a bolster under your ankles while you are on your stomach. The bolster is to take pressure off your body and can be moved if not comfortable. The headrest is also adjustable. I will ask when entering the room if anything needs adjustment.

The level of pressure during the massage is different for everyone. Please let me know if the pressure is too light or too deep. I will check in with you during the session to see if you would prefer lighter or deeper pressure. The massage will start out with lighter touch to warm up the muscles and get the blood flowing and then work into a deeper touch.

During the session, I may ask you to roll over. Again, you will be fully draped during the transition. I will ask that once you roll over you move down the table if on your back, so your head is off the headrest as it will be removed. Or move up the table to the headrest if rolling onto your front.

Once the session is over, I will exit the room to allow you to redress. Take your time getting up and getting ready, it is normal to feel a bit lightheaded. Please open the door once you are ready for me to reenter the room. We can then discuss the session and address any concerns you may have.

If you have any questions prior to starting your session please let me know so that you may get the most out of your therapeutic session.
